Climate Change

The best way to create social change that will ultimately have an impact on climate change is through Duhigg’s social change theory. More specifically, strong and weak ties that will drive communities to sustain habits that will create real difference in the climate. Starting out small and expanding to overtime create massive environmental impacts that are necessary to fight the growing threat of global warming. The strong and weak ties will have to go hand in hand with Mckibbens method of “making a little noise”. The strong tied groups will create habits of protest and through the method of taking risks and being passionate about what they believe in and that will transfer to people around the world through weak ties. When people, through peaceful protest, make their voices heard by taking risks and not backing down in the face of authority, will create a powerful motivation join in the fight. Strong and weak ties with the proper sustainability and power to not back down will create the vital change that needs to happen to stop the spread of carbon emission in the atmosphere. Communities just need to band together and make some noise, get their voices heard and create the change that must happen. We have the potential, now we just have to reach it.
